The chart represents the changes made in global sales in three items; games software DVD/Video and CDS from 2000 to 2003. Units are measured in billions of dollars.
Overall, CDs had the highest global sales throughout the projected periods but which sales decreased every year. Meanwhile, DVD/Video and Games software showed an increasing trend.
In terms of CDs had recorded the highest global sales in 2000 which was at 35 billion dollars. The next highest sales were made in the following year of close to 35 billion dollars. These global sales decreased slowly to reach at about 32 billion by 2003.
In contrast, DVD/Video showed the drastic incremental trends over 3 years of periods. From 2000 to 2002, the sales volume for DVD/Videos grew from about 18 billion to around 27 billion dollars. By 2003, DVD/Video had experienced the highest sales in worldwide of approximately 31 billion dollars which sales figure was similar to CDs.
Meanwhile, the sales volume of games software had witnessed the steady incremental trends. Around 11 billion dollars of sales were made in 2000 for games software, which grew to 17 billion dollars in 2002 and its sales remained constant for two consecutive latter years.
