Both the reading passage and the lecture discuss facts that are related to the science of archeology in Britain. The passage states that there are lots of limitation for using this science in the old artifacts of Britain. It gives several reasons for this argument; however, the professor, in the lecture, does not concur with the author's deduction. She presents three pieces of evidences to support the fact that new guide line which has been established from 1990 solves these problems.
In the first place, it can be deduced from the reading that lots of valuable artifacts have been destroyed since construction projects started in this location and they devastated artifacts. This point is challenged by the speaker. She points out that the new guide line posits that construction project's location should be examined by archeologist before the start of construction and also if the archeologists credit the archeology value of site, the region should be preserved.
Moreover, that lack of financial support from government for archeological affairs is derived from the text. At the same time, from the listening, it can be inferred that construction companies, as a new source of financial support, give credit to the archeological researches.
The final point, presented in the article, is that no job vacancies in the archeology field make people change their mind to be archeologists. The lecture, on the other hand, casts doubt on the mentioned point by taking to the account of the fact that new guide line create conditions that in them archeologists should be hired for finding, preserving and analyzing the artifacts.
All in all, the reading section and the listening section both are about role of archeology in Britain's artifacts. The professor effectively challenges the claim made in the article.
