The table compares the percentages of expenditures paid for three different categories in five nations in 2002.
It is clear from the table that all countries spent the largest proportion of consumer spending on F/D/T. Additionally, five nations paid money for L/E lower than other items.
In terms of spending on food/drinks/tobacco, the proportion of money paid for those products in Turkey was highest, at 32.14% of the total expenditures, while the figure for Ireland was lower, at 28.91%. At the same time, Spain paid 18% of the total money for F/D/T, compared to only 16.36% and 15,77% of Italy and Sweden, respectively.
In terms of two remaining items, Italy paid the largest percentage of money for clothing/footwear, at 9% of the total consumer spending, whereas the figure for Sweden was lowest, at 5.5%. The proportion of expenditures on L/E in Turkey was highest, at 4.35%. By contrast, only 1.98% of the total expenditures was paid for L/E in Spain, the lowest figure recorded in the table.
