The reading and the lecture are about a concept in advertising dubbed buzzing, which is hiring individuals to promote their products. The reading rejects this kind of advertising because of the negative sides, however the lecture casts doubts on all this claims as follows.
First, the article states that hiring someone to pretend that he is an ordinary person that tells his opinion about a certain product is misleading and he could give incorrect information just because it is his job. The lecturer, on the other hand, refutes this claim by saying that those buzzers have been hired to tell about products that they already use and have a positive impression about them. Hence, they are already telling their sincere opinion and delivering correct information based on their own personal experience.
Second, the text claims that when people will tend to be more questionable about the quality of the products if they knew that those buzzers are just hired individual promoting for certain products. In contrast, the student argues that claim is not true, simply because people usually ask a lot of questions about any goods before deciding to buy like the price, the customer service and durability of the product. It very possible that they won't buy it if they did not feel comfortable about any of the things related to that product.
Third, the reading contends that this kind of business does not create honest relationships because it is build on misleading and benefit. The buzzer rejects this opinion because he thinks that the buzzer share their experience about the products in sincere way with other people and if they are not convinced they will not buy it. He added that these kinds of relations make help the people to be more open and sociable.
