The bar chart gives information and compares twelve nations in terms of the total quantities of Olympic medals they achieved.
Overall, USA saw the highest number of medals, whereas Japan won the least quantity of medals. It is also noticeable that the rest of countries occupied relatively same numbers of medals in this Olympic event.
While USA attained a large number of units, with more than 2,250 medals in total, Japan ranked the least with only 400 units. Soviet Union ran second just after America, at 1000 medals that included over 400 gold prizes, compared to approximately 150 units of UK.
Germany, Italy, Sweden and Hungary obtained almost similar numbers of medals, with around 500 units for each country. There were higher quantities of medals for UK and France, which reached over 600 units. China, East Germany and Australia’s athletes brought back to their homelands roughly 400 medals each.
