The chart compares 3 different means of transport in terms of daily users in the UK over a period of 60 years.
It is clear from the graph that car by far is the most popular type of transport in England during the period shown. Additionally, the numbers of people who use car and train on a daily basis increase gradually, while the figure for bus declines steadily.
In 1970, there were around 5 million UK people traveled by car daily, while the figures for bus and train were relatively lower, at 4 million and 2 million users respectively. By 2010, the number of Uk commuters traveled by car had risen to 7 million people, compared to 3 million train users. By contrast, Bus's figure decreased by 0,5 million to 3,5 million users perday in 2010.
By 2030, it is predicted that the number of people driving to work reach 9 million, whereas the number of train users is projected to rise, to nearly 5 million. At the same time, the figure for bus is likely to decline to around 3 million travelers daily.
