Essay topics:

Damage to the environment is an inevitable consequence of worldwide improvements in the standard of living. Discuss.

Human beings are always greedy, and they would do anything to improve their living standarts. Everybody wants to live in a big house, and use the most quality products that technology can provide them in every sector. They want fast cars, special jets etc. On the to these, humans are missing the most important thing which is the increasing amount of damage that they give to nature.

In ancient times there were no pollution like in these days. This is because of the technology which humans are using for their own interests. Refrigerators, for instance, were invented to make foods cool and fresh. However, while it is cooling inside it gives heat to outside, basic physics, and it causes global warming. Deodorants, for example, are invented to prevent people from smelling bad, but it has a really serious side effect which is damaging the ozone layer that protects our world from the harmful effects of the Sun.

While we are trying to make our lives better, we are destroying our future. Back in the days, people were using horses or sailed ships to travel. But, today we use cars and big commercial jets to travel faster and faster, and it causes carbon monoxide gases to oscillate to earth which poisons the nature.

People also make wars to live better. They have even used atomic bomb over Japan which caused thousands of deaths, and diseases that spread year in and year out. Now they are making wars for energy sources to make their lives better than the others. Big companies occupied the forest to make residences, and kill the animals.

In conclusion, the improvement of technology to improve living standarts is killing the environment. Because, we, humans are greedy.
