In 1997, John F. Kenedy witnessed an two-fold increase in the number of visitors (45 millions), surpassing the 42 millions of Laguardia. Newark’s figure was still lowest at, 39 millions. However, Laguardia’s numbers soared and reached the peak of 69 millions in 2000. Some fluctuations could be observed in John F. Kenedy’s passengers, which fell in 1998 and 1999 and finally increased again to 40. Additionally, Newark’s figures remained stable at 42 millions from 1998 onwards.
