The Article states that there are three methods to save Torreya taxifoha. However the lecture claims that non of the three ways provided in the articles are satisfactory solutions to save Torreya taxifoha and refutes each of the author methods.
First, the articles argue that. The best way to save Torreya taxifoha is by restore the tree to their original climate in Florida. In Florida the climate is cooler and suitable for the ever green to grow. The professor opposes this point by stating that reestablish the tree is unlikely to be successful. He states that the original location is strongly affected by climate changes for example, the weather become dryer because of the wet land drange and the global warming. He then explains that restore of the trees to the original place is not a convincing solution to save the torreya taxifoha.
Second the reading claims that torryea seeds and can be successfully be planting in other place rather than Florida. The professor refutes this point by saying that some other plant like the black locos tree when human being try to transfer them to other place un predicted out come happened. For example, the black locos tree spreeded so quickly and kill other plants and trees. The professor explains that assisted migration is not helpful as well.
Third, the article posit that seeds and sapling of terryea could be preserved in research centers, that will help researches and ensure the continue survival of the trees. However the professor opposes this point by talking about kept the trees in researches center is not realistic. He mentioned that trees to survive the disease should be relatively large and genetically diverse, but the researches center will not have enough capacity to keep those trees.
