The passage states that by increasing the construction projects in the United Kingdom, the old cultural artifacts was faced with serious problems and provides three of them. The lecturer, nevertheless, explains that for most of the twentieth century, the science of archaeology is changed and improved in this situation by providing three advantages of this condition.

First, the reading claims that by digging foundations for new buildings, many valuable artifacts were lost and destroyed in construction projects. Conversely, the lecturer opposes this point by saying that before starting the construction projects, the are has to be examined by archaeologists. The professor contends that in the next step, the builder makes a plan to preserve artifacts before construction. So, there is no concern about artifacts in construction projects.

In addition, the article posits that many archaeologists fell that the financial support which was funded by governments, was inadequate for archaeological research. On the other hand, the lecturer argues that the grants will be paid by construction company instead of the government. We also learn that different projects in various cities make sutiable funds for archaeological.

Finally, the passage expresses that there are little opportunities to have a career in archaeology. Quite on the contrary, the professor emphasizes that construction projects will pay different works for archaeologists such as examine the site, doing research, processing data and reporting the final paper. According to the professor, by increasing the job, the professional archaeologists will be increased too.
