Essay topics: You have been offered a job that will require you to move to a city that you have never visited before. You have a friend who lives there.
Write a letter to your friend. In your letter
1) Explain your situation
2) Say why you feel unsure about living in the city
3) Ask some question about life in the city
Dear John,
I am writing to ask you about a favor.
As you know I have been dreaming about living in a big megalopolis since I was a teenager and now it seems that the dream came true – I have been hired by a computer company whose office is located in Los Angeles. So, I am going to move to LA in the next month.
I will need your help with search of a proper flat because, frankly, my budget is tight and I wanna find cheap apartments near my new workplace. I know that you have a lot of friends in the city and maybe someone may rent me a flat for a reasonable price. Additionally, I hope that you will show me around, you are my only friend in the city and with your help I will quickly adapt to the new environment.
Finally, I have a couple of questions. Firstly, how much money should I have at the beginning? I assume that living in such an enormous city as Los Angeles should be expensive. Secondly, what clothes should I take with me? I will arrive in December, should I have any warm clothes? My mother is going to give me a knitted sweater and a hat but I think that I needn’t have any of those things.
Sincerely yours,
Eugene.

Essay evaluation report
flaws:
It is out of topic for the second question: Say why you feel unsure about living in the city.
we need to talk about something generally like: I am quite nervous for moving to the city. for example, i have never lived in such a big city before, blabla...or most people over there own guns, maybe it is not safe...or the rent fee over there is very expensive while my salary is not great enough...
