Parents are the best teachers. Agree or Disagree?
The passage and lecture is both discuss about elephants, which is the most enormous animal in the world. While the reading states that they have a several surprising behaviors, the lecturer refutes this by saying that this is the biggest misunderstanding that they have impressive behaviors.
First of all, the reading claims that when elephants realize that their life is coming to an end they always going to the water. Therefore, the herds are found near the water and it is known as the "elephant graveyards". The lecture counters this point by stating that as they getting older their teeth will face the difficulty with swallowing. Thus, they keep going to the water, which has a plenty of softy vegetation.
In addition, the reading makes the argument that elephants have an artistic sense. The lecture refutes this claim by pointing out that the elephant's ear is a sensitive organ. Elephants are able to remember certain patterns as touching their ears. Therefore, the animal trainers are consuming their ears as a tool to draw a pictures. Also, lecturer thinks that it does not makes sense that when elephants just drawing a line we can't see them as flowers or the artistic drawing.
Finally, the reading passage argues that elephants have a fear from mice. However, the lecturer refutes this point by saying that elephants don't have a trauma from mice' but the mice is the unfamiliar animals to the elephants. The lecturer then provides with an example of elephants which is live in the zoo. She points out that the zoo elephants has already accomodated with the mice. Therefore, she says that it just a natural habitat of animals that react fearfully from unfamiliar animals.
All in all, the reading and listening is both about an elephant' behavior.
