It is clear from the chart that, most of the land degradation was due to the over-grazing process. As a result almost 30% of the land becomes degraded followed by deforestation and over- grazing, which accounts for almost 30% and 28% respectively. Other reason accounted for only small percentage(7%).
A detailed vie of the data shows that, Europe had lost almost 23% of its land due to downgrading process. Out of which deforestation was responsible for almost half of the land decline. The Oceania region's 13% of land was gone due to the deforestation and over-grazing reasons, but the interesting thing was that its over-cultivation percentage was almost nil. North America had a good control over their land degradation, they only misplaced 5% of land as a result of this problem.
In conclusion, we can see that almost all the regions facing this problem in spite of varying percnetage level, but the reason were different in various regions.
