The maps illustrate the plans of the city center in Islip at the present and the future. Many significant changes will have taken place in this small town according to the planned development design.
The first interesting point is that there is a main road in the middle of the town, connecting the West to the East, but it is predicted to turn into an oval-shaped dual carriageway all around the city. The middle part of the current road, however, will have been converted into pedestrians. Moreover, a series of shops located in the North of the main road are expected to knock down and replace by several amenities such as a bus station, a great shopping center, a car park, and new housing with a separate access way.
Turning to the planned development map, there will be no significant changes in the downside of the main road because all shops group, housing, the school, and the park will have remained intact. The only noticeable point is that the park is anticipated to be smaller, and some extra new housing will be introduced there.
Overall, it seems Islip is a city with a countryside as well as wider space, but it will become more urbanized in the near future.
