In the lecture, the professor disagrees with the notion of the reading passage for several reasons.
First, in respective to the inconsistency in the passage, the professor displays that the fur collar was added about one hundred years later to improve the painting's value. So in the beginning there is no fur collar and the problem of inconsistence does not exist actually.
Furthermore, following the first reason, if the fur collar was not involved in the original version the argument about light and show disappeared also. And originally the painting has simple and bright light and reflects the realistic scene of the woman.
Finally, the professor demonstrates that the panel of the painting is the same material of other paintings of her. Therefore, the glued panel is valuable because of the special style.
