The diagram below shows how the Japanese Bureau of Meteorology collects up-to-the-minute information on the weather in order to produce reliable forecasts. Write a report for a university lecturer, describing the information shown below.
The depicted diagram illustrates the process of gathering information which is used in defining weather conditions by the Japanese Bureau of Meteorology. It is apparent that, this process consists of four steps.
Initially, the needed information is collected from three sources, namely, a satellite, radar and a drifting buoy. Looking at the diagram in more detail, we can easily determine that, the available forms of information are satellite photo, radar screen and synoptic map which are acquired from the satellite, radar and drifting buoy respectively. In this step, all these forms are analyzed and forecasted so as to pass them to the computer for the next step.
In the third stage, all information in the computer is prepared and becomes ready for broadcasting. Finally, predicted information is broadcasted in various types of media, such as TV, radios and telephones which contain recorded announcement.
All in all, the described diagram suggests that, whether forecasts which we follow daily are obtained as a result of this process.
