A glance at provided data reveals a dominant stance of total violent crime among four abovementioned areas. Rising from 3.5 thousand commitments in 1978, total violent crime fluctuated somewhere between 3.2 and 3.9 thousand offences, prior to reaching a peak point of 4.5 thousand commitments in 1988. Gradual downward trend was observed for the rest of the period in this figure.
