The three pie charts below show the changes in annual spending by a particular UK school in 1981, 1991 and 2001.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The pie charts demonstrate the total spending of a particular UK school during three years (1981, 1991 and 2001). Each expenditure is represented by the correspondent percentage.

In all three years, the category that presented the higher percentage was the teacher’s salaries with a total of 40% in 1981, 50% in 1991 and 45% in 2001. During the years of 1981 and 1991, the second class of highest expenditure was the other workers' salaries. However, in 2001, the percentage of other workers’ salaries expenditure decreased and the second most representative expenditure was with furniture and equipments.

The total spending with insurance was always the less important, although the proportion slightly increased from 2% in 1981 to 3% in 1991 and to 8% in 2001. On the other hand, the total spending with resources, such as books, increased from 1981 to 1991 and decreased in 2001 when compared to the other two years.

In summary, spending with teacher’s salaries were maintained as the main annual investment of the school during the years of 1981, 1991 and 2001. This represented half or almost half of the total spending by the UK school.
