2 Maps: Islip town centre now and in the future
The maps depict the current structure of central town of Islip, and its future plan of development. It can be seen from the future planning that the town will get a complete makeover, and several new structure will be built.
The town currently has one main road and two sub roads connecting most of the amenities of the town. While shops are located both side of the main roads, school and the park is accessible from the side roads, one at west of the main road and another at the east of the main road. However, there is no special road for housing area and countryside.
In the future town plan, the entire town will we surrounded by a dual carriageway road. The main road will be replaced by pedestrian road and the shops to the north of the main will be restructured, and various new constructions such as Bus station, Shopping center and car park will be added. However, the shops to the south of the main will remain the same.
The old housing areas will be accessible by the new circular roads while tow new housing colonies will be added to the town; one will be placed near the shops, and other one will be placed to the east of the new car park. Interestingly, the size of the park will be reduced, almost to the half of its original size, and no changes will be made on the school, which will be connected via circular road.
