In the bar chart presented for analysis, we can observe the percentage of both male and female Australian citizens that perform regular physical exercise, in the specific year of 2010, and according to different age groups.
First of all, it is clear that are gender differences, where is possible to observe that women are the ones that do most of the exercise. While men are less active than women overall, that is not verified in younger ages, where they are on the top position. Later in life, those differences are less pronounced.
Until 25 years old, more than 50% of the boys do regular physical activity but from this age forward till 44 years years old, it will start to decrease, reaching its lowest percentage of 39.5. In the other hand, girls with less than 25 do less exercise than boys but as they getting older, are getting more active and by the time they are between ages of 45 to 54, 53.3 % of them choose a more active lifestyle.
From 54 years old forward, the pattern begin to change and if female start to decrease their routine daily activities, men on the opposite begin to gradually increase it. By the time that both genders reach more than 65 years old they have similar physical habits, where 46.7% of male and 47.1% of females choose to regularly do it.
