The bar chart below shows the proportions of English men and women of different ages who were living alone in 2011. The pie chart compares the numbers of bedrooms in these one-person households.
The given charts illustrate the percentages of women and men in Britain who are living alone by different age groups and give the information about how many bedrooms there are in one-person houses in the year 2011.
Overall, it can be seen that of all ages, the ratio of women living alone was greater than men and a significant difference was seen in the senior citizens. Moreover, in terms of one-person houses, ones with two bedrooms took up the largest proportion and ones with five or more bedrooms consisted of the smallest part.
From the first chart, men aged from 16 to 49 living alone constituted the larger ratio compared to the other gender, however, the figures for both men and women aged 50-64 were alike. In addition, the percentages of females who are older than 64 years old and living alone were much bigger than that of males in the same age range.
Looking at the second graph, people living alone in Britain prioritize houses with two bedrooms over houses with three, one, four, five or more bedrooms; and the figures for five mentioned categories were 35.4%, 29.8%, 28%, 5.3% and 1.4%, respectively.
