Overall, China and United states had the highest units of production and its consumption, whereas the lowest number of units was produced by Korea Rep. Surprisingly, Germany consumed more units than it produced.
To begin with, the amount of electricity generated and consumed in China was equally highest, about 5,398 billion KWh and 5,322 billion KWh, respectively, followed by United States with 4,099 billion KWh produced and 3,866 billion KWh consumed. Furthermore, Russia and Japan ranked third and fourth with around 1000 billion KWh produced and consumed, while corresponding figure of India and Canada was relatively lower, just 871 billion KWh generated and 698 billion KWh used, compared with 618 billion KWh produced and 500 billion KWh consumed, respectively.
In contrast, the amount of electricity used and generated in Korea Rep. was the lowest, with 450 billion KWh and 486 billion KWh, respectively, while the figures for France, Brazil, and Germany were slightly higher than Korea Rep. Surprisingly, Germany was the only country, that consumed electricity more than it was produced, consist of 582 billion KWh in comparison with 526 billion KWh.
