The pie charts reveal information about the utilization of water for three different purposes in different areas of the world.
Overall, the highest percentage of water was used by agricultural sector, whereas the fraction of domestic use was very low.
To begin with, the proportion of total water utilized in agricultural was almost same in Africa, central Asia, and South East Asia, which was 84%, 88%, and 81%, respectively, while industry used 7%, 5%, and 12%, respectively. Furthermore, South East Asia and Central Asia shared equal percentage in terms of domestic use, which comprised 7%, whereas Africa consumed 2% more than this two countries.
Moving further, South America used 71% water for agricultural purpose, which was almost twice to North America and Europe, with 39% and 32%, respectively. In addition to this, almost a half of total water was consumed by industry in North America and Europe, while South America consumed only one-tenth of total water. The amount of water utilized for domestic use in Europe was only 15%, which was 4% less to South America, and 2% high to North America.
