The bar chart illustrates the ten countries who most produced and consumed electricity in 2014.
Overall, China and the United States had ranked the first and second positions in both production and consumption of electricity, respectively. On the other hand, the Republic of Korea showed the least production and electricity usage. In addition to that, apart from Germany, all the countries produced more electricity than they had consumed it.
With regards to the production of electricity, both China and the US had produced together almost 10,000 billions of kWh in 2014.
Followed by them were Russia and Japan, that produced nearly 1,000 billions of kWh each. India and Canada accounted for around 1,500 billion, which is the approximate amount of France, Brazil and Germany together and is four times the production of the Republic of Korea.
Concerning electricity expenditure, around 8,000 billions of kWh were used by China and the US, which represents more than triple consumed by Russia and Japan. While France and Brazil had near the same expense of 455 billion each, Germany spent around 25% more than the Republic of Korea, which had a consumption estimated at less than 450 billions of kWh.
