The bar chart illustrates the monthly expenditure in dollars of a family in the USA on food, gas and clothing in 2010. At first glance, it is evident that spending on three items changed considerably in each month.
It can be seen from the graph that spending on three items in January and March had similar statistics. The amount of money spending on food in January was rapidly higher than in March; conversely, the figure for clothing in January was lower than in March by approximately $100. The figure for gas was around $340 in both January and March.
The monthly expenditure on food and clothing in February had the same level, at just under $600, and this figure was double higher than expenditure on gas. In April, monthly spending on food was the lowest of four months, at around $300, while the figure for gas and clothing was the highest, at about $580 and just under $700 respectively.
