The bar chart shows the percentage of small , medium, large companies which used social media for business purposes between 2012 to 2016

The given bar chart depicts the proportion of UK businesses that maintained a social media presence between 2012 and 2016.
In general, it is noticeable that the percentage of these companies showed a parallel increase in the given period. Additionally, large enterprises were the most dominant social media users out of three types of businesses.
Giving a closer look at the graph, it could be seen that from 2012 to 2014 saw a remarkable upward trend in social media utilization of small and medium companies. Specifically, in 2012, small businesses began at just under 30% then slightly rose to 35% approximately by 2014. A similar pattern was evident in medium businesses which also began at 30% and reached 50% two years later. However, both of these types of companies followed a downward trend right back in 2015, but the trend would continue to increase until the end of the given period, marking a 50% recovery in 2016.
By contrast, large enterprises dominated social media usage as they accounted for the highest proportions, just under 80% from 2012 to 2016, then saw a significant drop in 2015 when the percentage fell to around 50%.
