The given table gives the information about the consumer durables which is owned by households in Britain for the period 1972 to 1983.
Overall, it can be seen that households with consumers' percentages were increasing throughout the period. But, the only video consumer was first used in the year 1983.
In 1972, 93% households had television, but only, 37% had a central heating system. In the 1983, there were 64% household had a central heating. However, there was no significant change seen in the percentage of television, which was remained in the range of 93% to 98%. 87% households used vacuum cleaner in 1972, which was surged by 8% in 1982.Vacuum cleaner and refrigerator had nearly similar percentages, used by households from 1972 to 1983. 80% households who utilized washing machine in 1982 that was 14% more than the year 1972. Usage of telephone in households raised dramatically from 42% to 77%. Nevertheless, dishwater did not get much attention and remained less than 10% between 1978 and 1983.
