The chart below gives information about trends in internet use by females in the USA in two years.
This combination of line and bar graph illustrates the rate of internet usage by American females of various age groups for the years 2000 and 2001.
Overall, the utilisation can be seen declining with the increase in age. However, the contrast between the two years shows that the consumption rose as a whole, from one year to the next.
Looking at the younger generation of ages 12 to 35, an approximate yearly net growth of 16% was observed in 2001. Whereas the middle-aged ladies’ and teenagers used the internet roughly 12% and 5% more, respectively, from their initial estimation of 88 and 75 percents, a slight fall was credited to the pre-teen girls, putting them from 90 to 89%.
Although, the bulk of the utilisation was contributed to the younger ages, its elevation for the adults, 36+, was higher. The first of these groups went from 68% of them using the World Wide Web to a massive 82%. Similarly, the rest of the groups also saw an average increase of 9% each and a sum of about 42% altogether.
