The chart indicates the percentage of people who use social media according to their age in Jamestown during 2018.
Overall, the majority of social media users were teenagers and young adults, while the oldest age group were barely using social media.
Regarding the chart, people who aged from 13 to 25 surf the Internet with the highest rate which is two fifths of all the social media users, and that’s because this is the generation who was born during the technological revolution; moreover, this facilitated for them the means of social media and how it works.
Moving forward to the mid-adults group (26-35), This group uses social media with a proportion slightly less than the teenagers which is around 35%.
On the other hand, this contradicts with the group of people between 46 to 55 and the Elders, as they cover together approximately 12% only of users, which actually shows a downward trend compared to the other groups.
Briefly, the adults accounted for one in ten of total users.
Last but not least, elders above 55 scored a small minority of 2% only, making them the least users proportion.
