The chart below shows the amount of money per week spent on fast foods in Britain. The graph shows the trends in consumption of fast foods. Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information shown below.
The bar chart compares how much money is spent on fast food and the second chart is a line chart which illustrates the tendency of how fat food is consumed over a period of 20 years.
Overall, is it clear from the bar chart that despite high, average and low-earners do not have a common popular kind of food, the amount of money that people expend in food is directly proportional to their salary. following this, the line chart illustrates that while consumption of pizza and hamburgers witnessed significant growth, fish and chips consumption experienced a slight decline.
Focusing on the first chart, people who earn a high salary expend approximately 42 pence per person during a week which is almost two times bigger than what they expend in pizza or fish and chips. In addition, average income earners spent about 32 pence in burgers, followed by fish and chips at 25, the pizza at around 12. following this, low-income earners surprisingly spent approximately 18 pence at fish and chips, followed by hamburgers at about 13 pence then pizza at around 8 pence.
Looking at the line chart, while the number of consumed grammes of fish and chips had been considerably declined from 1970 to 1985, grammes of hamburgers and pizza had been considerably rising between 1970 and 1990. Furthermore, fish and chips consumption slightly increased from 1985 until 1990.
