From an overall perspective, the percentage of energy produced from petro decreased. Meanwhile, the figures for the rest of the energy sources had the opposite trend. Also, coal and gas were the most significant sources of energy in both years.
In 1995, the proportion of energy produced from coal in France was the highest, at 29.80%, this figure experienced a slight increase of about 1% to 30.93% in 2005. Similarly, in the first year, the percentage of energy created from gas made up for 29.63%, which rose modestly to 30.31% in 2005.
Regarding the remaining sources of energy, the percentages of energy production from Nuclear and other resources grew sharply to 10.10% and 9.10% respectively. By contrast, this figure for petro made up 29.27% in 1995, which decreased significantly to 19.55% by the end of the period.
