The pie charts compare the percentage of spending on different categories in an average family in two countries Japan and Malaysia in 2010.
It is clear that families in two nations spent most of their money on housing, food and other goods and services during the research period. Additionally, only a small proportion of expenditure was spent on health care and transport.
The percentage of money spent on housing in Japan was highest, at 24%. Meanwhile, the figure for Malaysia was slightly lower, at about 26%. The Japanese and Malaysian spent approximately 24% and 27% of the total expenditure was food respectively. Meanwhile, the figure for housing in Malaysia was 34% higher than 21% in Japan.
The proportion of household expenditure on transport in Japan was roughly 20% compared to 10% in Malaysia, whereas Healthcare made up only 6% and 3% of the total money in Japan and Malaysia.
