The chart below shows the expenditure of two countries on consumer goods in 2010

The bar chart compared the spending of France and England on five different items in 2010. Units are measured in pounds sterling.

Overall, it is noteworthy that the UK spent more money on goods while France spent less in the period given. Additionally, the British paid more for cars, books and cameras than the French and they spent more on computers and perfume than the UK residents.

In terms of cars, the highest expenditure was in Britain at around 450.000 pounds compared to France at 400.000 pounds. Similarly, the UK spent more on books than French people, with the figures standing at just above 400.000 pounds and 300.000 pounds respectively. In addition, over 350.000 pounds were spent on cameras in the UK, over double that of France, which was 150.000 pounds.

On the other hand, the outgoing on computers in France was the highest at under 400.000 pounds, which was slightly higher than Britain standing at 350.000 pounds. A parallel trend can be seen in perfume. Neither of the two countries spent much on this item which accounted for 200.000 pounds in France but under 150.000 pounds in the UK.
