Overall, the diagram shows an increase in the number of college and post-graduate degrees, while the percentage of high school and no high school degrees has gone down. The average household size is also dropping by time.

There is a drastic increase of 39% in the number of college degrees from 1950 to 2000 and a gradual increase of 11 percent in post-graduate degrees. However, high school degrees see a sharp decline of 35 % in the number, and there is a slight decrease in no high school degree number. The average household size has gone down from 3.2 to 2.5 in the 50 years.

There is a direct relation seen between the high school degree and average household size. As the size decreases, the number of high school degree also decreases. On the other hand, the college degree has an inverse proportion with the average household number.
