Information on how the frequency of eating fast food changed during a decade in the US is provided in the bar chart. Overall figures declined in the period.

As regards eating several times a week and once a week, figures rose and dropped. The former was around 17 percent and peaked at 20 percent in 2006. Then, it decreased slightly, reaching a low of about 16 percent. The latter grew moderately, with nearly 33 percent eating fast food in 2006. Subsequently, it fell by nearly 5 percent in 2013. By contrast, the percentage of people who ate once or twice a month declined by 5 percent in 2006 and went up considerably to about 33 percent in 2013.

The percentage of people who ate fast food rarely was 12 percent and levelled off at 15 percent while for people who ate every day and who never ate the pattern is reversed. Levels declined gradually by approximately 2 percent in 2006 and remained constant.

To sum up, it can be inferred that as the public awareness about this type of food increased, people tended to consume fast food less frequently.
