The chart below shows the percentage of people of different age groups who went to cinema once a month or more in one European country from 2000 to 2011.
The line graph illustrates the proportion of people going to the cinema once a month or more in a European country between 2000 and 2011.
Overall, the percentage of moviegoers of all age groups showed an upward trend over the period. In addition, going to the cinema was the most popular activity of people between 15 to 24 years old.
It can be seen that the ratio of the 15 to 24-year-old people was the highest, starting at above 15 percent in the first year 2000, then increased gradually to approximately 35 percent in 2006. After that, this figure saw a fluctuation in 2006-2008 period, then went up rapidly and reached the highest point of nearly five out of ten in the last year 2011. Compared to the youngsters', the figure for people of 35 and over age group started at the lowest point of below 3 percent. The percentage of this age group rose steadily to 13 percent in 2006, a growth of 10 percent in 11 years.
The figures for the two remaining age groups saw the same pattern during the period. In the beginning, the proportions of 7-14 and 25-35 people from exactly one out of ten and 5 percent, respectively, then there was a significant climb up and hit the same point of three tenths in 2011.
