and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
The given bar graph illustrates the proportion of the whole world population from 1950 to 2000 along with the year 2050 projection for countries like India, China, the USA, and Japan. It can be explicitly observed that of the four countries, China had the highest population overall whereas, Japan had the least.
In the year 1950, China accounted for the maximum percentage of the population of the world (around 26%) but, a slight decline to nearly 24% was observed in the year 2000 and furthermore, it is projected to fall to about 18% by the year 2050. A similar trend can be observed in Japan as well, which accounts for the least percentage of the population of the entire world.
On contrary to this, India holder 15% of the overall world population and escalated to nearly 18% in 2000. Also, it is expected to further elevate to just approximately 20% by the year 2050. The USA comprised exactly 10% of the world's population and surprisingly, for the years 2000 and 2050, the percentage is expected to remain constant i.e., around 7%.
Overall, the proportion of the entire world population will be successively dropping down in China and Japan and it is expected to rise substantially in India.
