The chart below shows the percentage of whole world population in four countries from 1950 to 2000,, with projections till 2050.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The bar chart indicates the proportion of global population in four countries from 1950 to 2000 and their expected population till 2050.

At first glance we can see that India and China contained much more of the world population than other countries. It is also expected that in 2050, apart from India, the population in other countries will drop.

Obviously China is the most crowded country with over a quarter of the whole world population in 1950. This number reduced steadily in 2000 but still remained the highest of all. 50 years later the population in China is predicted to drop to just under one fifth of the world population in that time.

India also has a huge amount of residents, which occupied 15% of the global population in 1950, but this figure rose to about 19% 50 years later and is expected to increase further till 2050, which an estimated amount of just over 20% in 2050. The USA contained exactly 10% of the world’s population in 1950 but slightly dropped in the next 50 years and is expected to remain stagnant afterward. Meanwhile Japan’s population also decreased in the 1950-2000 period and is anticipated to drop even further in the next 50 years.
