The chart below shows the results of a survey about people's coffee and tea buying and drinking habits in five Australian cities.
The bar graph illustrates the outcome of a study on the pattern of purchasing and consuming coffee and tea among Australian citizens in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Hobart in the previous four weeks.
Overall, there was a high coffee consumption, either fresh or going to café, in Sydney, Melbourne and Hobart while instant coffee was more common amidst the people of Brisbane and Hobart.
With respect to fresh coffee, there was a high drinking pattern in Sydney and Melbourne with more than 40% of the population buying it. However, Brisbane and Adelaide had the least consumption with less than 35% of the residents buying fresh coffee. Furthermore, while more than 60% of Sydney’s, Melbourne’s and Hobart’s inhabitants preferred going to the café for coffee and tea, only about 55% and roughly half of the population of Brisbane and Adelaide respectively had this habit.
Finally, while more than half of the people residing in Brisbane and Adelaide got instant coffee, less than 50% of the people inhabiting the other three cities took instant coffee during the period. It is interesting to note that, of all the three coffee varieties, most people from the five cities except Adelaide went to the café for coffee.
