the chart below shows the total number of minutes (in billions) of telephone calls in the UK, divided into three categories, from 1995 to 2002

The bar chart presents the data of how many minutes it took for people in the UK using 3 kinds of different telephone calls between 1995 and 2022.

In general, the minutes for calling with a local-fixed line experienced a downward trend while the opposite trend was recorded for those with national and international - fixed line and Mobiles. However, in spite of declining in the later half of the period, the number of time people devoted for local-fixed line calls kept the highest positions, compared to the others.

There was a gradual growth in minutes for calling in local -fixed lines, ranging from over 70 billions of minutes in 1995 to a peak of 90 billions of minutes in 1999. Similarly, the figures in national and international - fixed line and mobiles also went up a little by 10 and 9 billion minutes respectively in the same period.

In the rest of the period, the figures for local -fixed line calls dropped slowly to the same as ones in 1995, being still higher than the 2 others which continued to rise and stand at over 60 and 45 billion minutes in order in the last year of the period.
