The bar chart illustrates how many minutes of telephone calls were made by three categories in the UK, over a period of 8-year from 1995.
Overall, the number of telephone calls in local remained relatively constant while the rate of those for national and international as well as mobiles witnessed moderate growth. Also, local was the category used in Uk for calling.
In 1995, local fixed line calls were at the highest point, at around 72%. By contrast, the number of mobile calls was at its lowest point, only 3%. Approximately 37% of national and international fixed-line calls were made in the UK.
The rate for local fixed line increased steadily and hit a peak at 90% in 1999 and then dropped to nearly 72% in 2002 which was the same as in 1995. However, national and international fixed line calls as well as mobile calls experienced a constant rise throughout the period and reached the highest point at 61% and 55% respectively.
