The bar chart compare the time spent by UK residents on different types of telephone calls, namely local, national and international lines as well as mobiles between 1995-2002.
it's clear that during the period of eight years, local call was the dominant category while time spent on mobile phones cost the least of the time of British people. Also fixed line of domestic and oversea areas became increasing popular throughout the years.
From the chart, we can notice that the number of minutes of local calls was the highest amount overall. Before dropping from the year 1999, the figure for it saw a gradual climb, rising from approximatly 72 billion minutes to 90 billion minutes, reaching the peak. Followed by that was a steady decrease, reaching the 1995 figure in 2002.
Turing to the category of calls nationwide and worldwide, the span of years witnessed an general growth, from around 37 billion minutes to 61 billion minutes, with a slower climbing tendency in the last few years. As for the amount of mobile phones usage, it as well went through a total increase, however, as time went by, from which stage we can easily discover a more rapid growth between the year 1999 and 2002, from 13 billion minutes to 45 billion minutes, hitting the peak. Noteworthy is the fact that the smallest gap of there groups can be observed in 2002.
