The bar chart compares the total minutes of three call types over a period of seven years.
It is clear that more time was spent on fixed line phone calls than those via mobiles in each year. And the local call with fixed lines was the most popular over the same period.
In 1995, people spent approximately 72 billion minutes calling local people, which was almost double the minutes of national and international calls by fixed line. By contrast, the figure for mobiles was only 3 billion. Over the following seven years, the total amount minutes of local calls rose considerably to a peak of 90 billion in 1999 and began declining after 1999, reaching 70 billion minutes in 2002.
By 2002, minutes of national and international calls through fixed lines had increased from 38 billion to 60 billion. And the equivalent figure for mobiles rose dramatically to almost 40 billion. The difference between minutes of three types of telephone calls decreased a lot between 1995 and 2002.
