The chart below shows the value of one country's exports in various categories during 2015 and 2016. The table shows the percentage change in each category of exports in 2016 compared with 2015
The bar graph illustrates the amount generated (in billion dollars) by a country from exporting products from five categories in 2015 and 2016 and the table gives the percentage proportional change in value between these two years.
Overall, petroleum products and engineered goods were the highest exported goods of the five categories for both years and there was a positive rise in the amount generated from the exports of products from various categories except gems and jewellery.
In 2015, petroleum products were mostly sold out of the country generating slightly more than $60 billion. This was followed closely by engineered goods at a value of more than $50 billion and gems and jewellery contributing almost $45 billion. Agricultural produce and textiles were the least exported at slightly more than $30 billion and $25 billion respectively.
In 2016, petroleum products and engineered goods were still highly exported with a 3% and 8.5% increment from the 2015 value respectively. Interestingly, the worth of exported gems decreased by 5.18% to almost $40 billion while there was only a minimal increase of 0.81% in agricultural produce. Textile had the most significant increase of 15.24% from its 2015 value to more than $30 billion by 2016.
