The chart indicates the data about the gender distribution of students studying six art-related subjects at a UK university in 2011.
Overall, the figures for female students were significantly higher than the male counterparts, expect for art&design. Additionally, the highest figure for female students can be seen in communication & media study, while most of male students studied English language & literature.

As can be seen from the chart, linguistics, english language & literature, and communication & media study was taught the most at UK university in 2011. The number of female students studying linguistic was about 240 students, 100 higher than their male counterparts. To English language & literature in 2011, there were 250 female students and approximately 230 male students who enrolled this course. At around 270 students, the number of female students studying communication & media study was 60 higher than that of male.

In addition, the quantity of students studied philosophy, history & archeology, and art & design were lower. The number of female students enrolled philosophy class was 150 students, three time higher than their male counterparts in 2011. There were about 130 female students studying history & archeology compared to 90 male students. In contrast, art & design was the only subject that have more male students took part in than female counterparts, with 170 and 160, respectively, at a UK university in 2011
