The bar chart gives information about the time spent watching TV by Australian citizens by gender in various age group in 2001. It divides ages to different groups from under 15 to over 55.
Overall, the hours spent on TV by female was higher than that of by male in every age groups, except the age group from 36 to 45 when men were spending more time on TV than women. Moreover, both the highest and lowest time spending on watching TV was made by female.
To be specific, in the age group under 15, the hours of spending time on TV were the highest, which accounted for 25% while from 36 to 45 years old they also spent the least hours per week on watching TV. Most of age groups spending on TV is led by female, just once in the ages of 36 to 45 when male was spending more time on watching TV than female. Another striking feature was that the hours spent on TV of male under 15 was similar to the age groups from 26 to 35 and from 46 to 55 while that of female was alike in the age groups from 15 to 25 and over 55, which were 15 and 20 hours respectively.
