The chart shows the result of a survey about people’s coffee and tea buying and drinking habits in five Australian cities. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The given bar chart details the surveyed information done on the drinking or buying coffee habits of the people residing in five different Australian cities( Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Hobart, and Adelaide) in the last 4 weeks.
Looking from the overall perspective, it is readily apparent that the majority of people in all the cities chose to visit a cafe except Adelaide where instant coffee buyers and cafe visitors reported almost the same proportion.
According to the given illustration, nearly 64% of people in Melbourne loved to visit a cafe, as against 61% in Sydney. Also, whilst 3% fewer individuals opted for instant coffee in Sydney compared to 48% in Melbourne, the number of fresh coffee buyers was just below 45% in each of these cities.
Turning to the other cities, whereas more than 3 in every 5 people had a visit to a cafe in Hobart, this proportion fell to just 56% and 49% in Brisbane and Adelaide. Although Brisbane and Hobart followed a similar percentage of approximately 53% of instant buyers, nearly 1 out of 2 people in Adelaide bought instant coffee, just 1% above the cafe visitors. Also, with 34%, Brisbane and Adelaide observed the same number of fresh coffee buyers, while Hobart noticed a 4% jump in the same.
