The charts below give information about the national distribution of water and the average domestic water usage in Asturia.
The two pie charts depict how water was used in Astoria in 2010. The former one highlights the distribution throughout the country whereas the latter one reveals how usage was divided within households.
Overall, it can be manifested that the majority of the water used in Astoria was for domestic purpose. In that, even though the highest percentage of water was used outdoor(gardening) most of it was for indoor use.
First of all, most of Astoria's water, more than half of the total (55%), was siphoned into domestic use. The second highest consumers were commercial users with one-fifth proportion and leakage accounted for half of it. Interestingly, users and institutions amounted for 7 % and were, therefore, the lowest consumers of water while the water which was not metered was one per cent more (8%).
Secondly, the predominant use of water in houses was for the gardening purpose (40%or 108,00 litres). The amount of water used for bathroom and toilet had an equal share, with 20% each. The proportion of water in laundry and kitchen was 12%(32,160 litres) and 8%(21,440liters) respectively.
