The pie charts compare the proportion of global forest and timber in 5 different areas.
Overall, while the figure for world forest in Africa is the highest, the opposite is true for that in Asia. Also, North America accounts for the largest percentage of timber, whereas Africa constitues the lowest figure.
In details, 27% of global forest is located in Africa, compared to 25% originated from North America. By contrast, the rates of world forest in Europe and South America are 18% and 16%, respectively. Meanwhile, Asia comes in final with their green zone amounting to 14% of the total forest.
With regard to timber, North America heads the list with sharply 30%, which is 7% higher than the figure for South America. In the meantime, the proportions of timber in Europe and Asia are 20% and 18%, correspondingly. In terms of Africa, although Africa is the highest-ranking area in the rate of global forest, the percentage of timber in this continent is the lowest figure of the five regions, which is half as much as that in Asia.
