The given pie charts illustrate the percentages of three nutrients, namely sodium, saturated fat and added sugar in typical meals in the USA.
Overall, sodium and saturated fat are added more in dinner while snacks contain more sugar. It is also worth pointing out that the portions or these nutrients in breakfast are lower compared to the other meals.
To begin with, the percentages of sodium in snacks and breakfast share an identical figure (14%), follow by that in lunch with nearly a third of the total proportion. Also, there are nearly 50% of sodium consumed in dinner, which is higher than that of saturated fat in the same meal by 6%. Additionally, saturated fat in breakfast, lunch and snacks represent a similar pattern (around 15% to 25%).
Turing to the other pie chart, while the proportions of sugar added in breakfast and lunch are recorded at 16% and 19% respectively, that in dinner is almost a quarter of the total percentage. Moreover, the majority of sugar is consumed more in snacks, with its figure recorded at 43%.
